Expedition Report
A team of four, including one Imperial College student, embarked on a 150km cross-country ski journey through the northern part of the Kungsleden, Sweden’s most famous long-distance sledging and skiing trail. They commenced their journey towards the end of March when the weather in the Nordic mountains can change extremely quickly, with high-speed winds, blizzards, melting lakes, and sunshine. The north part of the trail was selected as huts are present at 15-20km intervals. Most cabins provide access to an emergency satellite phone, firewood, basic food supplies and a wood-powered sauna.
